DCVC Volunteer Information Evening
May 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm| Free
From 13-19th May, Dublin City Volunteer Centre will participate in the National Volunteer Week. All over Ireland there will be events that celebrate volunteers and volunteering with this year theme set around the definition of volunteering. Who is a volunteer? What is volunteering? Where do volunteers…volunteer!
The Dublin City Volunteer Centre will have a few events during the week. Our popular Volunteer Information Evening will be at the Carmalite Community Centre on Tuesday 14th May 6.15pm-8pm. During the evening you will be able to hear a few of our organisations speak about the work they do and the roles they have available. After the talk there will be time to to visit the organisations at their stands to ask questions and sign up for roles. This is a great opportunity to gain more in depth knowledge about the volunteering opportunities available and meet like minded people.
Organisations confirmed so far:
Inner City Helping Homeless was founded in November 2013 as a result of the increased number of people sleeping rough around Dublin City. The ICHH outreach volunteers are on the streets of Dublin city and surrounding areas 7 nights a week and bring supplies such as tea, coffee, soup, pot noodles, gloves, clothes and sleeping bags.
The Hope Foundation is a registered charity working with street and slum children in Kolkata (formerly Calcutta), India.
